How the journey works
Your driver meets you at Howrah Station and drives south towards the ferry point at Lot No. 8, near Harwood Point. Cars cannot cross the river, so you take the ferry to Kachuberia on Sagar Island. A second car is waiting there and takes you on to Gangasagar and the Kapil Muni temple area.
Time to allow
The road to Lot No. 8 is long, around two to three hours depending on traffic, followed by the ferry crossing and the drive across the island. Ferry timings can depend on the tide and the season, so we plan the day with you and suggest a start time that keeps you out of the late rush.
For pilgrims and families
Tell us if there are elderly passengers or heavy luggage, and we will choose a car with enough space. A sedan suits a small family, an SUV suits six or seven people, and a Tempo Traveller suits a large pilgrim party.
Return trip and stays
We can book the return journey in the same call. If you need a room, we also help arrange hotels in Gangasagar.
